One of the easiest things to do is quit. Quit studying, quit your program, quit a relationship, quit going to church , quit a task or perhaps even quit life. If for whatever reasons you feel like quitting I want to encourage you to Press on.
The apostle Paul found himself in jail and on death row because of his public profession as a follower of Jesus. (Try to make sense of that) While there he wrote that he was no longer going to look in the rear view mirror – you know all the could ofs ‘would ofs’ and should ofs’. Instead he says – I am going to press on toward the goal.
His goal was to keep following Jesus to the end of life regardless of the bumps in the road. How on earth could he do that? Because he knew that despite circumstances Jesus had not quit on him!
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:13-14
Remember that today – don’t quit and start pressing on!
